The Ravenna Ravens’ season came to an end Friday, falling 24-6 to Chagrin Falls in a Division III, Region 9 regional semifinal contest.

Ravenna was held to a season-low 210 yards of total offense as a big and physical Chagrin Falls defensive line dictated the tempo.

RAVENNA, Ohio – Friday’s Division III, Region 9 quarterfinal between Ravenna and Southeast had more see-saws than a playground.

It wasn’t over until Ravens strong safety Kyle Kornbau swatted away a pass intended for Trevor Norquest in the end zone, giving the Ravenna faithful a chance to breathe.

Now, much like Kent Roosevelt, the reward for a landmark victory is a date against the top seed in their region.

Two-time defending Division IV state runner-up Chagrin Falls made the leap to Division III, Region 9 this season and is one of the favorites to make it back to the state finals.

Finally, the answer for what the difference between the Portage Trail Conference County Division’s best and one of the Metro Division’s elite has been answered.

It’s a batted-down flee-flicker in the end zone.
